Native Renewables Inc. (NRI) is an Indigenous-led 501c3 nonprofit organization that is addressing energy access issues for tens of thousands of Indigenous families.
There is a demand for affordable renewable energy solutions to provide basic energy needs. This funding opportunity will allow NRI to install solar photovoltaic (PV) systems that can provide critical electrical needs; which include power for a refrigerator, lights, and some small electronics. This project will bring off-grid solar PV power plus storage to Navajo and Hopi communities. This grant will be used to fund ten new ~2.4 kW off-grid PV plus battery storage installations at the homes of five Navajo families in the Bodaway Gap chapter and five Hopi families. Each install will also support solar education for families and provide install opportunities for the team and workforce.
