In support of providing hands-on installation opportunities to individuals trained on the NWIC mock roof, NWIC requests funding for the procurement and installation of a 60 kW solar Photovoltaic array to be installed on the campus library roof.
NWIC will partner with a local installer to ensure community members are able to train on the mock roof, then safely assist with the installation of the array. Community members will also be introduced to tools used to size and price out solar PV systems, allowing them to plan future installations in their respective communities. This array will support the training of an Indigenous workforce in solar installations and also move NWIC and Lummi Nation further toward their goal of Energy Sovereignty.
